Aprovechando que estábamos en Edimburgo en agosto mientras era el Fringe Event fuimos a ver una actuación de humor. Nos decidimos por Gareth Much y fue todo un acierto. Buen show, en el que nos reímos bastante. Gareth fue muy cercano e interactuó con nosotros, completando un espectáculo genial. El local estaba bien, la cerveza un poco cara. Muchas gracias.

Bien, muy divertido. Por supuesto algunos monólogos son mejores que otros, pero cuando yo fui lo pasé bien. La comida aceptable (aunque abundante), lo único que no me gusta es que hay que llegar con mucha antelación para coger buen sitio. Aunque cuidado, porque si os sentáis en las primeras filas van a interactuar con vosotros (como es de esperar) y en cuanto vean que sois de fuera, que lo van a ver en cuanto abráis la boca, se van a cebar. Pero de buen rollo quede claro.

Sin duda, lo recomendaría. Fue genial, la gente era muy simpática y es que te sientas muy cerca de los demas?, lo que no supone ningún problema, en realidad.
Los cómicos esa noche estuvieron geniales. Me gusta el sistema que utilizan. Pides comida y empieza el show. Algo diferente e inolvidable.

Well-stocked bar, reasonably priced. Have eaten here before and it was excellent pub-grub food. Sadly on this occasion the comedy was not really up to scratch. I think I just about laughed once, and the rest of the audience barely managed more than a few good-natured guffaws. It had opened an hour before the show so maybe if one had consumed a good amount of alcohol first... well then anything might seem funny. Billed as the 'best of Scottish comedy' it was a pretty poor show. Venue was only half full. When I had visited years back, there was often barely standing room. This time I left shortly before the 'top act' had finished. I found the sound level -- plus the piercing and unfunny voice – metaphorically as well as quite literally, painful to listen to. Perhaps it was an off-night? But Scottish comedy surely has better to offer.

Decent comedy club. Went on 29 NOV 2024 and the first act was absolutely terrible, crass, and over relied on sexual innuendos to be funny, but they were just gross. The other acts were great, and Susan was an incredible host with such a beautiful singing voice!

Went on a Saturday night. Enjoyed the compere and the acts were ok. At 20 quid a ticket it didn't feel particularly stand out or interesting really but was an ok night. The comedy was a bit safe which seems like a general trend for most clubs in the UK and it's not a great sign if the compere is the stand out act. There were house rules on the website, house rules given by staff and then house rules given by the compere. Rules can be important but it really takes the fun out of a night having these rules repeated and on a big board next to the act as if we were in school rather than a comedy club. The rule of no heckling makes the venue look a bit of a soft touch. No phones or chatting do make sense however if the comedians have presence on stage I doubt these rules would be often broken. The venue itself is very cramped with seating taken up early on as other reviewers have mentioned. Getting to and climbing into the toilets feels like a trip to a bathroom in a small submarine, it is really not suited to a venue of its capacity. The bar staff were quick and attentive which was a plus.

Bought tickets to see Mark Thomas, when we arrived we were told there were no seats left and we would have to stand. We just had to leave as i couldn’t physically stand for over 2 hours and if you are able to would you call that an enjoyable experience! If a venue has a certain capacity then thats how many tickets you should sell, don’t sell someone a ticket without telling them they might need to stand, absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of money for tickets as well as a train journey to Edinburgh.
