I worked with Sarah to redesign by master bedroom and master bathroom. She completely turned my rooms from okay looking to the cover of a designer magazine. Sarah is meticulous and super organized. She first came to see my space, took measurements, created a virtual representation of the space and gave me three design layouts to choose from. Once I decided on a layout, we then started conversing on color schemes and items/furniture to fill the space. You might think to yourself that you don't need an interior designer and that you can do it yourself, but I ask you to reconsider. Sarah works with you; her design skills with your vision will create a space that you will love forever. I am constantly showing my friends pictures of my bedroom and my bathroom. I had never used an interior designer before. I was always intimidated by the thought and didn’t think it was necessary. When I moved to my first sizable house, I was inundated by how to cohesively furnish it. I started my search for design help but found the online sites not hands-on enough for this big task and the few local recommendations seemed to have their own set uniform design style that didn’t make me feel heard. I finally learned about Sarah Kruze and her design business from a mutual friend.

Sarah’s first challenge was interpreting our design style. My husband and I only knew our dislikes and not the design terms for anything. Next she had to design our two-story entryway that led into a fireplace area that is open on three sides as it is basically a pivot point from the foyer straight into the two-story living room or into the adjacent open kitchen. My husband and I were stumped with how to make it all flow while also maximizing use of each space. Amazingly Sarah was able to fully capture our vision as well as open our minds to a more fresh modern version of our initial preferences.

Sarah truly cared about us as people and as clients. She wanted to push the envelope but while making sure we were comfortable with her choices along the way. In the end, not only do we love the end result (and constantly get compliments) but I feel like Sarah helped update our personal style from stuck-in-our-20s to more modern sophistication. Her initial presence in designing a majority of our first floor has resonated in our selections throughout the rest of our home.

Living in NYC has its challenges, especially if you’re someone like me who has a lot of stuff and uses their apartment for work. Sarah helped me create a stylish space that is also functional.

For years I had been pushing furniture around trying to make things fit that weren’t working and was constantly feeling stressed and overwhelmed. It was great having a professional involved who understands space. I love her aesthetic, which was adapted to fit my taste of fresh laid back Cali with pops of bold colors and textures.

As an Artist and Cali transplant creating an interesting living environment ideal for entertaining that is also calming was really important to me. Sarah is patient, kind and very proactive which was important since this was my first time using a decorator. I’m so happy I found her when I did because shortly after we finished the remodeling the Covid lockdown went into effect and I don’t know how I would have coped without the improvements.

We updated the kitchen by adding a beautiful backsplash which is inviting and actually makes me want to use my tiny kitchen. Transformed an awful built-in unit in the living room to a simple clean media center. The bedroom which originally looked like a dorm room is now a sophisticated and lavish Mecca featuring a gorgeous chandelier, his/hers wardrobe system and a much needed vanity.
My most prized home improvement is the custom desk and display unit in the entry way where I can realize all my artistic fantasies.
