I can’t thank the NYKB team enough for making my renovation such a smooth and enjoyable experience. Everyone was incredibly attentive to project managers, designers, and customer service, I felt truly supported.
We renovated our entire apartment on the Upper East Side, and now, three months later, I’m still in awe of how beautifully everything came together. As so many others have mentioned in their reviews, I also knew from the beginning that I had chosen the right company. There was no stress over permits or deadlines, and the NYKB team helped me bring my vision to life with their expertise and professionalism.

I had been wanting to change my kitchen for some time. It was so worth it. NYKB completely transformed my kitchen. The photos say everything. They just made my life so much easier. Pull out trash and recycling bins… new stove, dishwasher, fridge. I mean these before and after pictures just say everything. If you go with NYKB trust me… you will be in good hands.

No construction company will ever get 5 stars but this one is as close as you will find! And let me say from the jump - I LOVE my new kitchen & bath!!

I gut-renovated both my kitchen and bath which had been badly ignored for years so it was a big job. What I loved about NYKB was they handled every aspect of the job from start to finish - the permits, dealing with the co-op, the design, the construction, the plumbing and the electric. Everything under one roof! My project manager Gevanta was excellent. Almost every time he said a piece of the job would be ready by a date specific he was usually +/- a day of that commitment. He spoke to me constantly and followed up promptly when I had questions. My designer Maia come up with a great design and helped me find just the right materials to realize that design. Chris and his assistant did most of the heavy work on job and every night they cleaned everything up so well!! All my neighbors were so impressed the halls were immaculate every day. Everyone commented!

So if I'm so over the top happy, why the 4-star rating? First, one of their main selling points was that the designer and I would go shopping for the extras on the job - the faucets, the sink, things like that. So we went and it was fine until I got the bill. $13,000!!! This included $900 for a sink that didn't even include the sink strainer - the bit that connected the sink to the pipe. That cost an extra $168. Well, when I saw that bill I about lost my sh*t. I said no thanks , and for about $800 got all the bits and bobs from Home Depot. Same brands, nicer styles, a fraction of the price. And the $7k bathroom sink included in that shopping spree price was replaced with one for $1500 from Wayfair. Seriously, a little price sensibility. I understand Markell but I got a comparable sink including strainer and rack at Home Depot for the price of the strainer on the original sink.

The other area for improvement involve the two items that we were going to repurpose in the renovated rooms - the kitchen faucet and the toilet. Even though the plan said to put them aside and keep them, they were disposed of during the demolition. To their credit, NYKB replace them at their own cost. The faucet was able to be replaced with the same brand, the toilet was not.

At the end of the day, I would wholeheartedly recommend NYKB to anyone looking to remodel the kitchen and/or bathroom. In fact, I already have. But like any project, it's up to the person engaging the contractor to ensure that things stay on track. And to the other reviewers whining about the contract terms - it's a contract, it's negotiable

I recently renovated my kitchen with NYKB, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the start, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. I had a specific vision for my kitchen—modern, functional, and sleek—and they helped bring it to life while offering great design suggestions along the way.

The project timeline was clearly outlined, and while there were a few small delays (as expected with any renovation), the team kept me updated and made sure everything stayed on track. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the materials used were high-quality. I was especially impressed with how they handled unexpected challenges—rather than cutting corners, they took the time to find proper solutions.

One of the standout aspects was their customer service. Whenever I had a question or concern, someone was always available to provide updates and reassurance. That level of communication made the entire process much less stressful.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with my new kitchen. It looks incredible, functions beautifully, and has added so much value to my home. If you’re considering a kitchen renovation in NYC, I’d highly recommend checking out NYKB!

Would I use them again for future projects? Absolutely.

I had major water damage across all the floors in my apartment due to a dishwasher leak. Not only did the floors have to be replaced, there was also a mold issue and the existing subfloor had to be removed and replaced. Perry, Michael Avidor, and Carl managed the whole process and pushed hard to move as fast as possible even during the holidays. Michael provided detailed updates and photos even while I was traveling out of the country. The end product looks great and we have the peace of mind coming from knowing that the installation was done correctly, with no shortcuts, and is protected through their 5 year warranty.

We purchased a new apartment in our building after falling in love with the view but quickly realized we needed to renovate an older model kitchen which was walled off from our living room, and re-do our master bathroom. We had a general concept of what we wanted so we began speaking to several contractors. Immediately, from our first meeting, we knew NYKB was the design and renovation firm for us. When you are doing something as intimate and as important as designing and renovating your home, relationship and communication is of the upmost importance. NYKB treats you like family. They completely understood what our vision for our home was and began working on a plan for us. Perry could not have been more helpful in discussing our vision with us and guiding us through the entire process from our first consultation to the end result. Nick and Ellen on their design team were vital to us in helping choose color schemes and materials that perfectly fit into the vision we had for our new home. Tracie took care of ALL of the back-end paperwork, we never had to deal with certifications or building permits. Their project manager Steve made sure the project stayed on track and took care of every single little detail concerning construction. The fact that they have a showroom made the process even easier for us, and was very helpful in influencing some of our design ideas. After discussing plans and choosing materials we were presented with an in-depth walk through of what our future home would look like. We were blown away by the professionalism and detail that went into our presentation. Construction started immediately and was done well within schedule. We could not have been happier with the result. NYKB was able to work around structural building infrastructure to give us the open kitchen and living room we always wanted. They designed, created, and installed a custom entertainment system for us based on our needs and wants and integrated fully automated entertainment, lights, and shades into one handy unit for us. We now have a home both perfect for entertaining and socializing, as well as raising our young child. Our master bathroom is truly elegant and modern, it feels spa like. We also had NYKB re-do our floors which came out amazing, surpassing even what we could have imagined. Everything from painting, to lighting, tiling, plumbing, cabinetry; was done perfectly. We were so impressed with the work they did, and the relationship we forged with them that we have hired them to do renovations at another home of ours. Stay tuned for those pictures!

My third project with this company!

I bought my new apartment that was in horrible condition. Since I already had a great experience with NYKB I had no doubt that I will hire them again.
Again I asked for Steve to be my designer, and he was assigned to my project no questions asked.
I can't say enough about Steve's and Perry's (the owner) patient with me.
The new kitchen, backyard, and 2 bathrooms looked exactly as I expected.
Me being unavailable most of the time Steve and the crew managed to understand exactly what and how I wanted the place to look like even over the phone and emails.
Bottom line - this being my third successful project with them, I can't really think of any reason why I would not recommend this company to anyone else.
