Awesome experience and the show room / slab warehouse is amazing. I could literally spend all day there just browsing, it's insanely awesome. Staff is great and even the owners are helpful. Intrepid probably has the largest selection in the Portland area (that i have seen) in terms of high end / quality stone and tile options.

We had an amazing experience at Intrepid - Drew (Owner) was very informative, professional, and provided an incredible high quality assortment of Slabs to consider as my Wife and I shopped for NEW Kitchen Countertops. Drew provided a competitive price for the Quartzite Slabs, offered a few Fabricators who could do the Tearout / Install, and Intrepid held our Slabs for over a month as we aligned our plans. I highly recommend Intrepid and was very happy with the complete experience & professionalism. Their attention to detail was spot on - thank God we listened to Drew and brought down one of our Cabinet Doors & Tiles to ensure we had the right colorway. Thanks Intrepid!!!

I concur with others responses regarding poor service at Intrepid. The receptionists never left their chairs during my hour visit, as they entertained themselves with videos and personal conversation. The four other wholesale stores I visited all had roaming professionals offering assistance. When we approached Heather with a question, she said the information is on the sample, and the measurement is on the packaging (which she discovered it wasn’t), and seemed reluctant to look up such things as availability of products (I had to ask her several times-really). Too bad this nice showroom has uncooperative and condescending people representing them. But the products are nice-just prepare for self-service.

I completely agree with all the reviews. The girls at the counter never acknowledged us until it was close to closing. Their attitude is that they are doing us a favor by letting us buy tile. Every tile selection comes with a custom order surcharge. I came back a second time to see if things had changed and it was just as bad. I will not be back. If you are looking for marble slabs it is even worst. They will not quote you a price only your installer can know.

Awesome selection, Heather in the showroom was amazing. She assisted us with choosing the backsplash and referred us to get some competitive bids for our job. Super easy to deal with with, highly recommended Intrepid.

As folks have noticed, not very "customer" friendly...

But, I think people have to realize is that we are not their customers. The installer / fabricator is their customer. I suspect if a fabricator says the Smiths are coming in (especially if the Smith job is $$$$) they will get a much friendlier reception.

That said: Lots of stone, looks high quality, nobody was actually impolite. If "my" installer said "I use them" I wouldn't run away.

But if left up to us we'd use their competitor down the street or across town.

They look profitable enough that I don't think they are losing sleep over the fact that some of their business does.

No matter when I have visited the showroom, the front office staff seem too busy chit-chatting and complaining to acknowledge a customer. I have always felt like I'm intruding when I approach the desk with a question and they act like it's not in their job description to answer. Is it really hard?
All I can say is that while their showroom has some cool tiles and slabs, it's pretty easy to go elsewhere and get better service.

My husband and I had a great experience working with Drew at Intrepid and highly recommend checking them out! I was really impressed with the showroom and it blew me away when Drew took us into the warehouse to look at all the different stone options. We're currently in the process of redesigning our kitchen island and were completely overwhelmed with the type of stone we should select. I showed a picture of our kitchen to Drew which included our back splash and current counter-tops. Right off the bat, Drew knew what our back splash was, even carried it in stock so we could hold it up to the different stones (really impressive given our home was built in 2009). He spent time educating us on the different types of stones and even gave us recommendations on what stone would be best given what we were looking for. Drew helped make an overwhelming decision fun and easy. Thank you Intrepid!
