I recently visited Hinkley's Custom Lighting Store in Scottsdale with my parents who recently moved to North Scottsdale Troon Area. We were impressed by the diverse selection of lighting options available. The showroom itself is an experience, with beautifully arranged fixtures that demonstrate how different types of lighting can transform a space. They offer everything from classic designs to modern innovations, making it easy to find something that suits any style or preference. Additionally, their catalogs provide even more choices and ideas for those who may not see exactly what they're looking for on display. I learned a lot just by speaking with the knowledgeable staff, who were eager to share insights on various lighting techniques and design tips. It’s clear they take pride in offering both quality products and valuable advice, helping customers make informed decisions about their home or project needs.

Installed custom lights for high end commercial project. Quantity was worst I’ve ever seen. Despite 20+ of the same fixtures not 1 of them the exact same. Finish paint was poor and appeared to be a cheap rattle can. Poor quality drill holes. Appear to made by the local high school machine shop class. Poor looking welds, cheap materials. Zero pride in craftsmanship. Buyer beware.

I walked in yesterday for some new indoor sconces. Not one person greeted me, asked me if I needed help or even indicated they’d be with me in a few minutes. I was there about 10 minutes. Of the 5 other people in the showroom, I couldn’t tell who was an employee or who else was a customer. I went home, put on fuzzy socks and looked on Wayfair… my new sconces will be delivered in 6 days.

We have purchased lights and fans from Hinkleys for many years. Recently we had a customer service/warranty need and Skylar not only took great care of us, he provided excellent customer service.

Hinkley’s offers zero customer support to a defective pendant leaving us with no options. My experience with Hinkley has fallen short of my expectations of professional customer communication regarding a pendant with a defect.

While we had so many challenges with the sales team in Scottdale (Skylar), the most recent incident on 8/20/24 is the most concerning. I attempted to have a conversation about one of three pendants (Fett Pendant) which we purchased in April-May 2024 for a luxury custom home in Scottsdale. This is our fifth time attempting to have a conversation about a product defect in one of the pendants. This time I was in person as I flew in from Seattle to address a few home items.

I was met with abrasive and accusatory Skyler who blamed our shi&ty builder for "poor install" instead of listening to my explaining that the fabric is cheap and low quality which ripped apart. I asked for a manager who immediately jumped to conclusion and said you have a bad builder. Get them to buy you a new one vs. looking at my pictures and having a conversation.

We are at a loss as to how to communicate with your Scottsdale store's aggressive team...really at a loss.

I found these lights on the website, went into the store and they offered me them for a significantly cheaper than what I could online. Great customer service. In the picture. It's the ones over the island
