I've been to Design Within Reach twice, both times with a specific goal in mind. I've been helped by kind and well-informed salespeople each time, with no pressure to buy. I've never felt rushed; I've been given plenty of time and was given many, many options to try.

Our saleswoman was dumber than a bag of rocks. The poor soul that helped us knew nothing about the products, but insisted she personally owned everything we ordered. She also assured us that our purchases would be delivered in July, yet the website has us scheduled for delivery in October. I don’t, however, appreciate that my credit card was debited for the full amount in June. No comment on the actual furniture because I’ll be dead by the time it arrives, and who knows what will show up since our sales person was an incompetent idiot. Thanks, DWR!

I love shopping DWR online, but my recent experience in person was less than ideal. I was visiting the Dallas store to discuss ordering a Herman Miller Eames lounge (quite a big purchase!) while the black Friday sales are going on.

Upon my arrival to the store in the afternoon of Sunday 11/19/23, I received absolutely zero customer service. When it comes to buying furniture and decor at this price point, I think at least greeting is warranted. That's fine, I thought, I'll just look around and talk with someone eventually, maybe they're all busy with other customers.

Unfortunately however, what then happened is that I perused the entire store for about 30 minutes, and not a single employee acknowledged my presence, offered assistance, or asked if I had any questions. I saw two employees working with other customers, but several others just sitting at a counter. There was hardly anyone else in the store. If the employees are motivated by making commission, it was not obvious.

It was a disappointing experience to say the least. Hope the store can work out this customer service issue. Either way, next time I'll just consider shopping directly with Herman Miller (yes, they own DWR, but at least there's a dedicated store elsewhere in Dallas).

I went to the store with my sister and my best friend, we saw the amazing looking furniture and want to go look at some other furniture that they were offering for sale. As soon as we walk in the store, we were already told “this is not a hang out spot” because we looked young. We told them we were simply looking at the furniture and that we meant no trouble. The lady and the male employee then stood at a distance and stared at us and made us very uncomfortable. We then left after not even being in the store 5 minutes. Very unprofessional, very rude, and it seems that they will profile you without a doubt. This is not how you treat a customer. Highly recommend not going.

Les helped me pick out a chair that best fit me ergonomically, and he was considerate in helping me weigh my chair and customization options. He answered all my questions fully and gave some great suggestions or points to think about when picking a chair.

The store is beautiful and very clean. They're owned by Herman Miller, which was the brand I was looking for.

Tip for first time customers - the people sitting with the Macs work there, and you can ask them for help. (when I first walked in, I thought they were mall customers using the desks as workspaces. One of them looked up and asked if I needed help, since I looked confused).

Outstanding customer service nearly every time. Salespeople really know their merch. Amazing quality products...you do get what you pay for. Fun to browse but even more fun to buy. Worth your time to check them out if you are looking for furniture or lighting. Tell them Kristi says hi.

I visit Design Within Reach on Saturday 4/18 I was interested in getting a couple of the Cherner Barstools I had four sales person looked right at me didn’t speak or ask if I needed assisted , as if I should have been inside their store.

Horrible customer service, false shipping information, avoid this store at all cost!

We ordered a bookshelf in store, the sales agent told us it was in stock and ready to ship. Not so! Their warehouse provided us with a tracking number but never actually shipped the bookshelf. After going back and forth with their customer service for almost a month, all they did was giving us another tracking number while not shipping anything. It’s also amusing that the sales agent tried to convince us that the bookshelf has been delivered.
