When I think of top notch hunting in Idaho, I think of Boulder Creek Outfitters. They offer everything from elk (cow & bull), mule deer, whitetail, bear, cougar and turkey hunting. I’ve personally went on a spring bear hunt with them and a whitetail hunt with them. Would love to come back for some more hunts. I was out of the Joseph camp for a rifle cow hunt in mid-October. Matt was really great working with me to set dates and get my tag and I say that because some reviews mention difficulty here - they're an outfitter and a lot of these camps are remote or have intermittent cell service. I'm used to hunting back country in Colorado with an in-reach so my experience is different but I can honestly tell you that Matt is very responsive despite being on hunts and guiding/running the Outfitter being a full time job. If you want responsiveness within an hour - go somewhere else - if you want an Outfitter and guide who knows the land, knows how the animals are moving and has high success rates, choose BCO.

I filled my tag on the first morning at first light. My Guide, Chris, knew exactly where to locate the elk and we hiked hard and fast from the trailhead to get to the ridge as the sun was coming up. When I came up behind him, he had already identified the target cow at a ranged ~300yds and pointed out a good place for me to get prone and supported to make the shot. Normally I have a call in my mouth but everything happened so fast, so I was glad Chris cow called to settle down the herd after my shot. A calf and cow even ended up coming up to the ridge where I was sitting and came into less than 4 yards of me before turning off.

At camp, Eric, the cook, ensured I was settled into my cabin and knew where to find anything I needed food-wise and for showers. I had a really nice afternoon when I first got in, speaking with Tim (Owner) as well...and overall really felt welcome and at ease in camp.

I observed multiple other bulls (290+ on one of them) and a mule deer also being harvested from camp during my short time there. Because of my work schedule and with filling my tag so early, I was only in camp a very short amount of time but I will definitely be back. I had a great experience, came home with full coolers and stand by my recommendation of Boulder Creek Outfitters. Thank you to everyone at BCO whom I had the pleasure of meeting.

I had an amazing week of hunting with Boulder creek outfitters this past June 2024.The country we hunted is amazing and my guide and cook were top notch. My guide worked very hard to put me on a bear. I have already put my deposit down for next year. I highly recomend.

Boulder Creek is top notch. I never hunted for bear until this year. I spoke with Matt, one of the owners and he put together a great Spring bear hunt. The guide Josh Haynes was top notch. I neither rode horses nor hunted bear before this trip but Josh carefully pushed my limits with this exhilarating hunt. I left with a bear and experience riding horses. However, I did not leave before meeting Matt and his dad, Tim. Tim originally opened the company and had decades of experience guiding. Their genuine concern for my satisfaction combined with the experience of the guides enticed me to book another trip with my son. The fall bear hunt was another success as Josh is a great houndsman- in fact the best- and guide Eric Krasinski worked just as hard with him to ensure a fantastic experience. Many things add up to a successful hunt. We got our kill, but enjoyed seeing an abundance of wildlife, had excellent accommodations, good food, well kept cabins, and left with a new friend or two. Oh and the mountains are breath taking as well.
If you're interested in hunting Idaho bear, elk, mule deer or whitetail, look no further, stop shopping, and book your hunt with Boulder Creek! Regardless of your experience level, I personally guarantee that you won't regret it.

The guides were okay, they left me in a tree stand in the middle of a thunder storm tho. The company them selves did not help at all for my hunt. Not letting me know that I would sit in a blind for up to 8 hours. They did not tell me what I really needed and what I really didn’t need. The horses we rode the guides did not know them and have not had the time to work with them. While I was there one of the other customers saddle went right over there mule they were riding. The company really doesn’t care about you they just want your money. The stand I was in was really small and it was going to fall apart. The my guide had never hunted spring bears before either. Last year they called me 48 hours before I was going to go to the hunt and canceled my trip and told me I couldn’t go for a year. I should have canceled then and there. It is a not hunters hunt. For someone who does not like to hunt and likes to sit that is not very stable for 6 to 8 hours. With no guide. They take you to a site and tell you not to move. Very disappointing. I went after spring bears 2023. These pictures are of the 10 thousand pounds of bait they use for the hunt. Which is cookie dough, rice crispy treats and pop tarts.

Lion hunt December 8-14. Guides worked hard every day. Cook was great. Needed more snow. Dogs got hung up on dry ground. Beautiful country. Lots of game in that region. Fun experience. Saw tracks just couldn’t get one treed. Will do it again

October mule deer hunt was my second hunt with these guys and as before I had a great time. Great group of guides. I hope to plan another trip for next year.
